Karaage, Japanese style fried chicken
Ingredients: 1 serving
- 9 oz chicken thigh, cut into pieces
- 4 Tbsp flour
- For marinade:
2 Tbsp. Kewpie Mayonnaise
1 tsp grated ginger
1/4 tsp grated garlic
1/2 Tbsp sake or white wine
1 tsp soy sauce
- oil for frying
- In a bowl, mix all the ingredients for the marinade. Add the chicken and mix well. Coat the chicken with flour on both sides and set aside.
- In a frying pan, heat an inch of oil. Once the temperature reaches 340° Fahrenheit, cook the chicken for about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Remove the chicken from the pan and transfer it to the serving plate.
Serve with extra mayonnaise on the side as dip as an option.
