Kewpie Synergy

KEWPIE Mayonnaise, known for its creamy texture and depth of flavor, is integral to both the crab cakes and the Lemon Dill Sauce. It complements the crab meat and adds a creamy, herby layer to the sauce, enhancing the overall taste of the sliders.

Makes 8 sliders

For the Crab Cakes:

  • 1 lb. crab meat
  • 1 tsp. Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup KEWPIE Mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp. Old Bay seasoning
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp. dried parsley (optional)
  • Olive oil for frying

For the Mayo Lemon Dill Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup KEWPIE Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice

For the Sliders:

  • 8 slider buns
  • Leafy greens (e.g., arugula or romaine)
  • Sliced tomatoes

  1. Crab Cake Prep: Mix all ingredients for crab cakes (except crab meat and olive oil). Fold in the crab meat. Chill for 30 minutes, then form into patties.
  2. Cooking: Fry the patties in olive oil until golden.
  3. Sauce: Mix KEWPIE Mayonnaise, dill, and lemon juice.
  4. Assembly: Spread sauce on buns, add crab cakes, greens, and tomato.

Kewpie Pro Tip

Choose high-quality crab meat for the best flavor and texture. Gentle handling while forming the patties ensures they remain tender and moist. The Lemon Dill Sauce should enhance but not overpower the crab. Toasting the slider buns adds a textural contrast that elevates the overall experience.
