Karaage, Japanese style fried chicken

Ingredients: 1 serving

  • 9 oz chicken thigh, cut into pieces
  • 4 Tbsp flour
  • For marinade:
    2 Tbsp. Kewpie Mayonnaise
    1 tsp grated ginger
    1/4 tsp grated garlic
    1/2 Tbsp sake or white wine
    1 tsp soy sauce
  • oil for frying

Directions

  1. In a bowl, mix all the ingredients for the marinade. Add the chicken and mix well. Coat the chicken with flour on both sides and set aside.
  2. In a frying pan, heat an inch of oil. Once the temperature reaches 340° Fahrenheit, cook the chicken for about 4 to 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the chicken from the pan and transfer it to the serving plate.
    Serve with extra mayonnaise on the side as dip as an option.
