Yakitori with Sesame & Hot Honey Sauce
Ingredients:
Makes 6 skewers
- 12oz. chicken thigh, cut into 18 chunks
- 3 stalks green onions, cut into 1½” pieces (mainly white parts)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 6 bamboo skewers, 6-7” length
- black sesame seeds for garnish
- Ichimi pepper or red pepper flakes (optional)
For Sesame & Hot Honey Sauce
- 2 Tbsp. KEWPIE Deep Roasted Sesame Dressing
- ½ Tbsp. hot honey
Directions
1.Prepare the Yakitori :
- Soak the skewers in water about 30 minutes before cooking to prevent burning.
- Thread chicken and green onion onto each skewer, arrange in this pattern::
○ chicken⇨green onion⇨chicken⇨green onion⇨chicken
- Season skewers lightly with salt and pepper. Set aside.
2. Prepare the Sauce:
- In a small bowl, whisk together KEWPIE Deep Roasted Sesame Dressing and hot honey until well combined. Set aside.
3. Grill and serve:
- Heat BBQ grill, griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
- Cook skewers for 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even cooking. Chicken should be cooked through with no pick remaining.
- Remove from heat and transfer to serving plate.
- Drizzle sauce over the skewers and sprinkle with black sesame seeds. Serve immediately with Ichimi pepper on the side for those who want extra heat.
