Yakitori with Sesame & Hot Honey Sauce

Ingredients: 

Makes 6 skewers

  • 12oz. chicken thigh, cut into 18 chunks
  • 3 stalks green onions, cut into 1½” pieces (mainly white parts)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 bamboo skewers, 6-7” length
  • black sesame seeds for garnish
  • Ichimi pepper or red pepper flakes (optional)

For Sesame & Hot Honey Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp. KEWPIE Deep Roasted Sesame Dressing
  • ½ Tbsp. hot honey
 

Directions

1.Prepare the Yakitori :

    • Soak the skewers in water about 30 minutes before cooking to prevent burning.
    • Thread chicken and green onion onto each skewer, arrange in this pattern::

    • Season skewers lightly with salt and pepper. Set aside.

2. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together KEWPIE Deep Roasted Sesame Dressing and hot honey until well combined. Set aside.

3. Grill and serve:

    • Heat BBQ grill, griddle or frying pan over medium-high heat.
    • Cook skewers for 4-5 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even cooking. Chicken should be cooked through with no pick remaining.
    • Remove from heat and transfer to serving plate.
    • Drizzle sauce over the skewers and sprinkle with black sesame seeds. Serve immediately with Ichimi pepper on the side for those who want extra heat.
